A historic Dublin 4* hotel that’s built on Irish family tradition and alive with character; The Sandymount Hotel welcomes everyone in as if they are kin.  

Opened as a humble guesthouse by the Loughran family in Ballsbridge over 70 years ago, the hotel has been passed down through three generations making it Dublin’s oldest, independent, family-run hotel. Each generation of the Loughrans has added their own unique stamp to the successful business resulting in the unique, warm and welcoming hotel we know today. 

For generations, our employees have experienced a unique family environment that will not be found in any other hotel. There is a wonderful spirit of team support and individual initiative is encouraged. Those who work with us are genuinely regarded as part of our extended family. We treat everyone with integrity and respect and work to ensure ample opportunities for career progression which is why our people often stay for the long haul. One employee has now been with us for over 40 years! 

The hotel’s rich history and family legacy is further enhanced by The Sandymount Hotel’s enviable position on a beautiful Victorian terrace in Dublin 4’s affluent Ballsbridge neighbourhood surrounded by boutiques, restaurants, embassies, and the Aviva Stadium practically next door. Newly refurbished, the hotel is set on more than 2 acres of land with 187 luxury bedrooms, picturesque gardens, modern conference suites & business centre, one restaurant, and a bar. We have been the recipients of many awards including “Europe’s Leading Green Hotel” at the World Travel Awards for 3 consecutive years.
