Summer Breaks
While we can’t always guarantee the sun will shine, The Sandymount Hotel can guarantee that you’ll have a wonderful summer break in Dublin, whatever the weather.
Quaint traditional seaside towns and villages dotted along the Dublin coast make for a variety of wonderful day trips with The Sandymount Hotel providing the ideal base from which to explore. Stroll from the hotel through Sandymount Village and grab delicious artisan picnic treats from the cafes as you make your way to the famous Sandymount Strand to soak up the sun or take deep breaths of the fresh air coming off the Irish Sea. Or walk the 5 minutes to the nearest DART station and embark on a picturesque train journey along the stunning coastline to Howth, Malahide or Clontarf.

Summer Breaks
The DART is also the fastest route into the heart of the city centre. Just 2 stops and Dublin in all its summer glory is at your service. Join sun-worshippers in one of the city’s many green spaces: St Stephen’s Green, Phoenix Park, Iveagh Gardens, Herbert Park or the National Botanic Gardens. And if there’s a shower or two, where better to seek shelter than the famous Brown Thomas department store on Grafton Street, with an Afternoon Tea in The Shelbourne Hotel or a drink and some trad music in one of the many bars and pubs spread throughout the city?
Dublin bikes are the perfect way to get around town on fair-weather days to visit all the top tourist attractions and discover your own hidden gems too. If temperatures rise, you can cool off whilst embracing your sense of adventure on board one of the Viking Splash Tours or a sightseeing cruise on the legendary River Liffey.
Back in Ballsbridge, spend late afternoons enjoying refreshing, cold drinks outside on the Line Out Bar’s sun-soaked terrace before taking sultry, evening walks meandering through all the chic bars and restaurants our leafy suburb has to offer.
