On behalf of the Loughran family, we extend to you the warmest of welcomes to Sandymount Hotel – Dublin’s oldest family-run hotel.
We are proud of our history. For almost 70 years The Sandymount Hotel has set itself apart by providing a unique, personal and friendly service that can only be found in a family-run hotel.
The hotel is located in Dublin 4, the city’s most exclusive residential district where magnificent period homes on leafy tree-lined roads provide a haven of tranquillity away from the city centre’s hustle and bustle.
The picturesque village of Sandymount, with its nature reserve and beautiful beach promenade is a wonderful setting to slow down and relax.
Winner of numerous awards, we constantly strive to develop and enhance the quality of our product. Our professional staff, many with years of loyal service, are dedicated to making every effort to ensure that your stay with us is as pleasant and memorable as possible.

Hotel Dining
Breakfast is served daily in Whitty’s Restaurant.
6.30am – 10am (Weekends 10.30am)
If you do not have breakfast included in your package, vouchers may be purchased at reception.
An all-day dining menu is served daily from 12.30pm in the Line Out Bar.
Opening Hours
Sunday to Thursday: 12.30pm to 9.30pm
Friday & Saturday: 12.30pm to 10pm
There is a daily room service and breakfast menu available. Breakfast room service card is on the back of your door. Please dial room service ext. 180 or 809 to place an order.
Room Service is available from 12.30pm – 9.30pm. Friday and Saturday is available until 10pm.
The Line Out Bar serves drinks from 12pm – 1am (last orders 12.30am)
Please note that for the comfort and convenience of guests wishing to sleep, there is no residents bar facility at The Sandymount Hotel.

There is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Please go to your Wi-Fi settings and select Sandymount Hotel. If you have any issues logging on, please do not hesitate to contact reception.
There is a computer, with complimentary internet access, available for use. This is located beside our Reception.
Should you require additional supplies (shower cap, facecloth, etc.) or if your room needs attention, please contact reception on extension 0.
Check out time is 12 o’clock. If you require a late check out, there is an additional charge which starts at €20. Please inform reception at your earliest convenience.
We accept the following credit/debit cards: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Revolut.
These are available from the local post office on Shelbourne Road.
A Bureau de Change facility is available at the reception desk. Daily rates may vary.
Please dial 0 for the hotel operator who will contact the 24hr Doctor on your behalf. Please have the patient’s age and symptoms ready for the operator who will need to inform the doctor.
Items left at reception before 8.00am will be returned to your room by 6.00pm in the evening. Service is available Monday to Saturday. There is no service on Sundays or public holidays. Fill out the laundry form and attach it to your laundry bag. Our laundry company also provide an amendment and alteration service.
Fresh flower arrangements or bouquets may be ordered through reception.
There is a Fitness Room in the hotel, please go to reception to get an access key.
There are other well equipped gyms in the area. Please contact reception for recommendations.
A hair dryer is located in the top drawer of the dressing table in your bedroom.
Irons and ironing boards are located in your wardrobe.
Luggage may be stored in our luggage room beside reception.
Messages left at reception for guests will be delivered to the room.
There are a number of chargers at reception. Phones must be left at reception for charging. Unfortunately, we do not have chargers for all phone types.
We have a computer located beside reception for anyone who would like to print off boarding passes. Please notify reception if you require photocopying. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use these facilities.
Incoming post will be delivered straight to your room. Stamped mail may be left at reception for posting. You may also pay at reception to have post franked.
European & US adaptors are available at reception.
All rooms are fitted with a digital safe. Instructions are with the safe. Valuables may also be left with reception for safekeeping. Please note that the hotel accepts no responsibility for loss from bedrooms.
Each bedroom is equipped with Tea/Coffee making facilities.

Lansdowne Road (NOT SANDYMOUNT) station is at Aviva Stadium 200mtrs from the hotel. The line runs along the East coast of Dublin from Greystones to Howth/Malahide. City Centre (Tara Street) is three stops. Trains run every 15 mins approx. 6am (Sun 9.30am) – midnight. Tickets can be purchased at the station.
If during your stay with us you would like to hire a car, we can arrange it for you at reception.
Taxis can be ordered through reception. There is currently a shortage of Taxi’s in Dublin so we advise guests to give themselves plenty of time to get to your destination.

The nearest bank and ATM machine is Allied Irish Bank, Sandymount Village.

The ATM is a 24-hour service
Murrays Pharmacy Serpentine Avenue, just around the corner from the hotel, is open 9am – 6.30pm (Mon–Fri), 9.30am – 5pm (Sat). A late-night chemist, Lloyds Pharmacy, in Donnybrook, opens 9am – 9pm (Mon–Fri), 9am – 9pm (Sat), 11am – 8pm (Sun).
There are hairdressers in Ballsbridge and Sandymount village. Our reception staff would be happy to recommend one to you.

Church of Ireland: St Matthews Church, Irishtown – Service Sunday 10.30am.
Pembroke Library (Est. 1929), free admission is next to the RDS in Ballsbridge. There is also a small library near reception where guests can leave and pick up books left by other guests.
There are a number of health and beauty spas locally. Our Reception team would be delighted to assist with a recommendation.
There is a Tesco Supermarket in Sandymount village.

The nearby counties of Wicklow, Kildare and Meath are home to some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery, craft centres, historic ruins, castles, and monuments. Reception would be happy to arrange a tour for you.
Ireland is home to some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. There are a number of excellent golf courses near the hotel and in the greater Dublin area. Ask at reception for further details.
Information and brochures on sightseeing tours are available at reception. These can be booked and prepaid through our reception staff.
The two main shopping streets in Dublin’s city centre are Henry Street and Grafton Street with shopping centres at St. Stephen’s Green and Jervis Street. Ballsbridge and Sandymount also offer a lovely range of small boutiques.
